Hosted by Allendale Columbia School, AC Encore provides extracurricular opportunities that give participants a chance to dig deeper and become strong, independent thinkers and effective problem solvers. Each quarter there are fantastic options for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 from all area schools.

Students enrolled in after school AC Encore classes with a 3:30 p.m. start time can gather in the Project Corner starting at 3:00 p.m. for a light snack and supervised play before classes begin. Child care is available in the Rainbow Room until as late as 6:00 p.m., and this year you can sign up for one day of class, one quarter AC Encore classes, or the whole year.

Encore 16 Session 5 : April 19 – May 26

Description : It’s never too early for children to learn the basics of digital photography. In this project-based class, students will learn a little about the history of photography, camera basics, and how to take a good picture. Students will have fun as each class will be an adventure, learning and using photography while focusing on a variety of projects. They will create a photo journal, photo magnets, take pictures for a t-shirt design, and more! Cameras will be made available for student use during this class.

Description : Guitar students will learn to read and play music on their acoustic and electric guitars while paying songs from diverse sources such as The Beatles, Beach Boys and Bob Dylan, folk songs, kids’ songs, pop songs, Christmas carols, Broadway and Hollywood tunes. Our teacher, Mr. Norman Tibbils, is an outstanding guitarist and a New York State certified music teacher who has helped well over 500 students play awesome music on their guitars.

Registration Closed For – Private Guitar Lessons
Description : These private lessons are for all ages. Beginning students learn to read music through rhythm studies, aural skills, and keyboard puzzles. They learn to sing and play folksongs, popular tunes, and famous classical melodies. Parents are welcome to accompany young students to their lessons. Advanced students study abstract technique, etudes, and repertoire from Baroque to contemporary piano literature. All students are invited to perform in Ms. Moriwaki’s studio recitals at Eastman School of Music throughout the year. Students must have an acoustic piano at home. A digital piano is acceptable for beginners.
