Description : Calling all artists! Join me in discovering your inner Picasso!

This summer’s Portrait Workshop is a great opportunity for your children to learn the basics of portraiture such as shape, color, form and proportion… As well as different artistic techniques for their portraits, such as blind contour and collaging.

They will end each day with a beautiful piece of art a grasp of a new skill, and will end the session with a Masterpiece inspired by the greats.

Last year, parents and families were overjoyed to have a new and original portrait to hang in their homes! Even more so, each day the children came in with the most wonderful energy and readiness to create something new. Seeing how impressed they were with themselves when they saw their progress from their first portrait to their last was unforgettable and I cannot wait to see happier faces this summer.

This summer’s class will be just as wonderful and enchanting and your child will leave with a sense of pride and accomplishment in their art.

Description : Do you love painting, but also sculpting? Can’t decide which art materials are your favorite to use? Well, in this week of art camp you won’t have to! From watercolors and inks, to fabrics and found objects, you’ll paint, carve stamps and pull prints, create weavings, and build.

You’ll learn interesting ways to layer different media (or materials) on top of one another, play around with interesting see-through papers, and learn that artists can use the sewing machine for things other than fabric. If you’re not afraid to take a risk and know that, in art, there’s no “right or wrong” way to create, than this is the camp for you.

Description : A unique survival skills day camp program, “Runnin’ Wild” challenges kids to think beyond the every day. Three hundred years ago, upstate New York was much wilder: no roads or tap water, no electricity or fuel, no grocery stores, pharmacies or hospitals. Could you have survived? Join this outdoor survival summer program to test your outdoor skills and find out!

Campers will master the four tenets of survival: shelter, water, fire, and food. Specific skills include: outdoor cooking and safety, fire building (with friction), survival shelter-building, wild sourcing of food and medicine, knife safety, and wild crafting!

Based on “Leave No Trace” ethics, our activities give children the confidence to explore the outdoors in a safe and meaningful way. In a “survival setting,” Running Wild campers think independently before reacting and make smart choices while being challenged. They also focus on developing life skills such as patience, respect, resiliency and teamwork.

Description : The fusion of painting, sculpture, collage and assemblage is where we discover Mixed Media. Have you ever tried to draw texture or paint movement?

The Art of Mixed media allows an artist to do more; tell a more complete visual story, through art. Young artists will learn to combine techniques in acrylic painting on canvas with three dimensional hand-building, collage and assemblage to create dramatic imagery. Exploring student choice of subject matter including animals, people, natural movement and more, students will create one or more sculptural mixed media paintings in the week-long art class.
