The Rochester 10
December 31st, 2014

George Dardess, former head of Allendale Columbia School’s English Department, was included in this City Newspaper article highlighting the Rochester 10 — an annual project designed to bring some of our community’s hard-working background players to the forefront. He stated that when he came to AC, he was challenged to think with his heart for the first time. Click here to read the full article.

College Application Tips
December 20th, 2014

Mick Gee, AC’s Head of School, and Kristin Merriman, College Advisor, discussed strategies for the college application process on News 8 at Sunrise. Mick said that AC’s college preparatory approach is aimed at achieving the best results while reducing the sense of pressure many feel about the process and Kristin shared several helpful strategies for students and families. Lessons in Community and Giving

The Democrat and Chronicle featured a photo of AC’s kindergarten students as they shopped for gifts to donate to the Hillside Family of Agencies Special Santas program. As the caption notes, the students raised the money for their donation by holding a bake sale earlier in the month, providing them with a fantastic opportunity to learn about both money management and the importance of helping others. AC’s Kindergarten Bake Sale Featured on Channel 13’s Bright Spot
December 15th, 2014

AC’s kindergarten students were recently featured during 13WHAM’s Bright Spot segment. After raising $1,200 through their bake sale, the students went to Target to purchase a variety of gifts which they donated to Hillside’s Special Santas program. What to Consider When Applying to College

Mick Gee, AC’s Head of School, and Kristin Merriman, AC’s College Advisor, shared their thoughts on the college search and application process on Good Day Rochester. During the interview, Mick and Kristin advise students to be the drivers of their own college search and emphasize the important role parents play in being supportive throughout the process.
