Allendale Columbia’s May Term Fair

Vista Teach Team Passionate about Robotics

This Democrat and Chronicle article featured the Vista Teach team of teachers, highlighting their work consulting with and training educators around the country as well as their in-school and summer S.T.E.M. Education Programs at AC. These teachers were recently awarded the K-12 Corporate S.T.E.M. Innovation Award from the International Association for S.T.E.M. Leaders at their invitation-only S.T.E.M. Kite Day
May 22nd, 2015

The Democrat and Chronicle featured a photo from AC’s Kite Day event at which more than 140 AC students welcomed spring by flying colorful kites. This event has been a tradition at the school for more than 40 years, coupling an afternoon outdoors with a hands-on lesson in air resistance and climate changes. Click here to see!


Brennan Wins National Championship in Heptathlon
May 22nd, 2015

After three years and six trips to the national meet, Aedin Brennan, who graduated as part of AC’s Class of 2012 and is currently studying at Denison University, earned the right to stand atop the NCAA podium as the Division III National Champion in the heptathlon. Young Women of Distinction Recipients Announced
May 19th, 2015

Emily Paszko, who graduated with AC’s Class of 2015, was featured in this article highlighting the recipients of the 16th annual Young Women of Distinction Awards. Modeled after the ATHENA Award, the Young Women of Distinction program is designed to recognize high school seniors who have displayed outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and involvement in the Rochester region. 2015 ATHENA Award recipient, former AC Trustee, and past AC parent, Amy Tait, delivered the keynote address at the awards ceremony. US Open Local Qualifying Notables

Semifinalists Named in Young Entrepreneurs Contest
May 8th, 2015

AC Upper School student James Bourtis pitched his idea for Sprouting Paper origami flower bouquets, a business he created, as part of the northeast regional Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA) competition. Founded and headquartered in Rochester, YEA! offers programs in 115 communities in 38 states. Click here to read the full article!


Area Students to Pitch Business Plans in YEA! Contest
May 6th, 2015

The Democrat and Chronicle highlighted the northeast regional competition hosted by the Young Entrepreneurs Academy at which AC student James Bourtis pitched a plan for Sprouting Paper origami flower bouquets. Two students from the regional competition will be flown to Washington, D.C. to compete in the national finals during America’s Small Business Summit, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where they will compete for college scholarships and a variety of business startup packages.
