The Allendale Columbia School kindergarten orchestrated the lower school Earth Day celebration this year with help (a lot) from many people.  The projects included:  The fourth graders building markers for the garden which were then painted by the first graders, the fifth graders learning about garden design and planning and working in teams to plot out this year’s garden, the second graders planting seeds and cleaning up the nature trail, the third graders designing and constructing a trellis for the peas they planted to climb, and the kindergartners (with the help of the fourth graders) preparing their pumpkin patch along with weeding flower beds and picking up around campus.  We had middle schoolers helping us, as well as parent volunteers and our amazing teachers and head of lower school.  Even our head of school, Mr. Gee, came out to pitch in (literally!) by lending his expertise and muscle in the gardens around school.  A very big thank you to everyone who made our Earth Day a special day!
