International Dot Day

Posted on September 15th, 2013 by Tony Tepedino

Guest post by AC Art Teacher, Mrs. Amy Oliveri

You may have noticed the signs on the AC gallery wall: the art department and other AC teachers are participating in International Dot Day, which is September 15th this year (it’s a Sunday, so we’ll observe it on Monday, September 16th).
This celebration of creativity, individuality, and “making your mark” worldwide is inspired by the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. (It is also available in video format). Every art student in grades K-12, among others, will create artwork for Dot Day, to be displayed in the AC gallery. You can check out our Pinterest Board for the project for a little inspiration. We will be making announcements at lunch to explain what the day means as well.
