A few weeks ago, students from all divisions and faculty/staff were invited to express their opinion on a variety of topics about our school lunch program.  We asked for favorite lunches, soups, vegetarian options, salad bar items, and desserts.  We also asked for new ideas and any items that they would prefer to never have again.

The response was overwhelming, and we received lots of great information and ideas.  We will be using the results in menu planning for next year.  Popular meals will be served more often and entrees will occasionally differ by division to accommodate the preferences of different age groups.  We will decrease the frequency of less popular meals, move them from the main entrée to an AC special, or in some cases, remove them completely.  We will also begin to incorporate many of the great new ideas into the menu.

Some results were not so surprising.  The students really like pizza, cookies, and ice cream!  Some results were more interesting, for example, two of the Upper School’s top rated entrees were on the Lower School’s list of what they would like us to never serve again!  Look for more survey results in Part 2.
