Allendale Columbia/Harley Winter Formal: Join us on Saturday, March 1st, from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the Alumni Gym for an evening of music and dancing. Tickets are $5.00.
As a culmination of our Inquiry Based Learning Unit, Kindergarten will visit the RMSC. This will provide an immersive experience into the rich culture and history of the Haudenosaunee people.
This will be the first full-class field trip for many of our students, so we will take time this week to teach and learn what items students will need or not need, and important behaviors to remember on a field trip. We will walk the Birdsong Fairy Trial and part of the Quaker Pond Trial. We will feed the wild birds if they're out that day. The hike will total about 1 mile round trip.
The Class Forum is an established Allendale Columbia School tradition introduced by the headmistress of the Columbia school, Mrs. Della Simpson, in 1946 to help students practice making arguments about current issues and to give the school community the opportunity to have a civil discussion about sensitive topics.
Join us on March 12th at 2:20 PM in the CPC for a Women in Leadership Panel featuring inspiring leaders from our community. Panelists will share their experiences through both pre-planned and audience questions, discussing topics such as stereotypes, prejudices, achievements, and perspectives on female leadership. Don’t miss this opportunity for meaningful dialogue and learning.
All AC parents are encouraged to join us at our Parent Appreciation Night on Thursday, March 13th. Together, we will celebrate what makes AC special and unique — the families in our community! The evening will feature Rochester-based trivia, beer, wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and more! This is also your opportunity to vote in next year’s PACK Officers, so don’t miss out!
Once a month the AC3 and Pre-K students wear a specific color or pattern as they learn about different colors, shapes and patterns in their classrooms. Please join us in helping our youngest students celebrate the color or pattern of the month and wear what's specified in the calendar listing above!
Parent Affinity Groups at Allendale Columbia School are welcoming spaces designed to foster connections, understanding, and support among parents and caregivers with shared identities or experiences. Led by our Director of Equity & Community Engagement, Angelica Davis-Bernard, these groups provide a platform for open dialogue on topics that align with AC's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Participants engage in conversations that address common challenges, celebrate shared joys, and contribute to a more inclusive community. These affinity groups create a supportive environment where individuals can share experiences, build connections, and work together to enhance the sense of belonging within the AC community. Join us in cultivating a network that values and embraces the richness of diverse perspectives.
This meeting will focus on reviewing parent feedback from the February session and engaging in goal-setting for the next steps. Together, we will identify priorities, discuss key takeaways, and collaborate on actionable plans to strengthen our partnership and support our AC community.
Fourth grade is going to explore local history through the eyes of Susan B Anthony! We will tour the museum and participate in the CHANGE-IT! program. Students will learn how to protest peacefully and effectively in the style of Anthony and her contemporaries.

AC Parent Affinity Groups are designed to facilitate the following: • Discuss issues that support AC's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and priorities • Hold space to identify issues relevant to and through the lens of group participants • Build capacity for cross group dialogue and more inclusive spaces • Connect issues relevant to the groups to the larger community The affinity groups are not intended to imply that all members share the same experience. Rather, the groups provide the opportunity for reflection, dialogue, and support, and the capacity to build more inclusive spaces.
You are invited to Join the Band and Join the Chorus for a special side-by-side performance event on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
