WE DID IT! Thank you to everyone who participated in AC’s Magical School Bus fundraising event last Friday! Together we raised $74,000, which will allow us to buy a new bus. Students in all grades use our buses to go into the Greater Rochester community for field trips, experiential learning, real-world work, and transportation to athletic practices and games (GO WOVLES!). Thank you for your generosity 💗

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - @jenn.boof came to AC in third grade. Throughout her time here, she has been a part of many clubs, including Best Buddies and Tabletop games. Outside of school, you can find Jenn drawing, gaming, or working with lower school students in Rainbow Room. Some of Jenn’s most memorable AC moments are from May Term because of the new skills she got to learn, all while hanging out with her friends. Jenn will attend Monroe Community College next year and plans to major in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. Best wishes to you, Jenn!

Join Tracy VanderNaald to build an iconic set or design your own which you will bring to life using stop motion animation. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - Gunnar Rorapaugh joined the Class of 2022 in sixth grade. Throughout his time at AC, he has taken advantage of all the opportunities provided to him by AC, including being a part of HAC Athletics (cross country) and building close relationships with his teachers and classmates. His most memorable AC experiences were getting to go on all the class trips— especially the Pathfinder trip in seventh grade. Gunnar is excited to study mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute this fall. Best wishes to you, Gunnar!

Today we celebrated the Class of 2022’s college, career, and gap year plans with some cake and a photo op in the courtyard! Our students will be in all corners of the U.S., and we are so proud of all of their accomplishments. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - A member of the Class of 2022 since 9th grade, @eileenoahz took full advantage of her AC experience, both academically and extracurricularly. An accomplished student, Eileen thoughtfully engaged in challenging coursework across disciplines and even founded AC’s economics team that competed in the national economics challenge (they placed third in the state!). Outside of AC, Eileen participated in a Rochester local leadership program that gave her the chance to meet students from many different school districts in the Rochester area. She is also an amazing artist and was awarded the Scholastic Art Gold Key Award. Eileen's most memorable moment from AC was participating in the Sword Dance at Strawberry Breakfast. Eileen will attend Washington University in St. Louis and plans to double major in financial engineering and studio art. AC is proud of you, Eileen!

When she’s not on the field or in the classroom, she is running HAC Wolfpack and Fowler Farms social media accounts and enjoying the outdoors with her friends and family. Morgan’s most memorable moments from her time at AC have been when she’s with her HAC athletics teams— especially her soccer season this year! Next year Morgan will attend Florida Southern College where she plans to study Business Administration on a Management path. Congratulations, Morgan!

They are proud to announce that this year’s Empty Bowls made the most money ever, earning $2,295.75! Last week, the ceramics class welcomed Elissa Rowley from Water for South Sudan and presented their donation. Congratulations on such a successful event!

He has worked behind the scenes for almost every AC theatre production, played the trumpet since fourth grade, and has participated in soccer, tennis, and basketball for HAC Athletics. As most may know, it is nearly impossible to catch Jonathan NOT smiling or laughing. His presence will surely be missed. Jonathan’s most memorable experience from his years at AC was the seventh grade Pathfinder trip. Next year, Jonathan will attend Rochester Institute of Technology where he will study Film Production. Keep up the excellent work, Jonathan!

A dedicated and amazing artist, Sophie can often be found in the art room or the DAL (digital art lab) working on her next project. Sophie has been recognized for both her artistic and academic excellence with the RIT Start Here Award (twice), Scholastic Silver Key (twice), and the RIT Creativity and Innovation Award. Outside of art and school, Sophie enjoys working with kids and has been an excellent camp counselor at AC’s summer camps. Her favorite memory from her time at AC is when she went on the Pathfinder trip in 7th grade. Sophie plans to study theatre production and design during her undergraduate years at Ithaca College. We will miss you, Sophie! Congratulations!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - @carly.freeman04 is one of the original members of the AC Class of 2022 and has been with her class since kindergarten. One of her greatest accomplishments during her time at AC was helping the Girls Varsity Tennis Team get to the state championships in NYC this past fall. Outside of school, you can find Carly volunteering at St. John’s Home and working with the lower school students in Rainbow Room. Carly’s favorite memory from her time at AC was the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip because it helped her bond with her classmates. Next year, Carly will attend Michigan State University where she will study psychology. We are very proud of you, Carly!

The most memorable moments from his time at AC were getting to play on the HAC boy’s basketball team and building relationships with all of his teammates. Andrew’s college plans are leading him to the city of Boston, where he plans to major in sociology at Boston College. Keep up the excellent work, Andrew!
